Mississippi homeowners and renters who sustained damage to their primary property from the March 24-25 severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes have just two weeks left to apply for federal assistance. The deadline is May 25, 2023.

A Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) run by FEMA and the state of Mississippi is now open in Greenville. FEMA and the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) want to serve the survivors staying in the Greenville area following the May 24-25 tornadoes and severe storms.

FEMA, in partnership with the State of Mississippi, is hiring state residents to assist with recovery efforts from the March 24-25 tornadoes and severe storms.

FEMA may provide Mississippi tornado survivors with a temporary home if they cannot live in their home because of damage from the March 2023 tornadoes and there is no other option for a safe place to stay.
