BATON ROUGE, La. –The second week in a series of virtual information sessions on disaster recovery programs and services will take place Apr. 21 through Apr. 24. The sessions will provide survivors with valuable resources needed to assist in their recovery efforts as they rebuild and repair their homes and lives after the recent Louisiana disasters. These virtual information sessions are an alternate response to continue current state disaster recovery efforts during the national pandemic situation.

Louisiana private nonprofits, including houses of worship and other faith-based organizations that may be eligible for FEMA help have until May 8 to apply for federal Public Assistance (PA) grants to help recover from damage suffered from the severe winter storms, including:

When a disaster strikes, the senior population is one of the most vulnerable, especially for those who live alone. There are measures older Americans can take to start preparing for emergencies before they happen. For example, if it is difficult to get around on your own or you need assistance to shelter at home or evacuate, you need to know ahead of time who will help.

BATON ROUGE, La. – Survivors of the severe winter storms in Louisiana in February have one month left to register for a possible federal disaster assistance grant and to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The deadline for both is May 10.
