COLUMBIA, S.C. — It takes two steps for survivors of the April 13 South Carolina storms to get possible federal help with losses.

Step one: Use one of several ways to apply for FEMA help.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina families and households who suffered damage as a result of the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding on April 12- 13, 2020 may be eligible for federal disaster assistance.

FEMA help may be available to disaster survivors in Aiken, Colleton, Hampton, Marlboro, Oconee, Orangeburg and Pickens counties.

You can register for assistance in one of three ways:

WASHINGTON – FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of South Carolina and ordered federal aid to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, tornadoes and straight-line winds from April 12 to April 13, 2020.

The President's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Aiken, Colleton, Hampton, Marlboro, Oconee, Orangeburg, and Pickens counties.
