Public housing facilities, police operations centers, childcare centers and libraries are some of the municipal buildings that will be repaired with a multimillion-dollar allocation from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). According to the federal agency, of the $640 million, $309 million is for 488 permanent construction projects that include other structures damaged by the earthquakes.

The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the U.S. Department of Education released a toolkit outlining federal resources available to help Puerto Rico recover and rebuild safe, healthy, and modernized school facilities.  The Departments of Energy and Labor, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency, also collaborated on the toolkit.

Interagency Technical Assistance Toolkit for School Infrastructure in Puerto Rico

FEMA and the U.S. Department of Education have released a toolkit with resources available to hep Puerto Rico recover and rebuild school facilities. This toolkit is broken into sections based on phases of school recovery and rebuilding work, from planning and design to project review. It also includes key points of contact and additional funding opportunities.
