Project Description

The borough of Westwood in Bergen County, New Jersey, is seeking to elevate four residential properties in the Special Flood Hazard Area. The four properties have received 18 Severe Repetitive and Repetitive Loss paid claims. One property is in the floodway. The borough is committed to elevating flood-prone homes to allow first responders to prioritize critical services and infrastructure by elevating the homes four feet above the base flood elevation. This will give residents increased protection from flood and projected climate change hazards.
