Vermilion Parish will acquire and/or elevate six structures at a high risk of future flooding.

Vermillion Parish is facing frequent flooding and a high risk of future flooding. The proposed solution is to acquire or elevate a total of six structures two feet above the effective Base Flood Elevation to prevent flood damages to the buildings and their contents during flooding events. Following the acquisition, the existing structures and associated appurtenances will be demolished, with proper abandonment of water wells, sewer treatment structures, services, and utilities and be converted to open green space owned by the parish.
