State, Community Resources Available to Hurricane Survivors

Here is a list of state and community resources that may provide additional assistance for residents of Charleston, Georgetown and Horry counties who were affected by Hurricane Ian:

211 Information and Referral Helpline

  • Dial 211 to be connected to a statewide information and referral system. Specialists provide information on non-governmental and governmental organizations offering services to disaster survivors, including help with homelessness and food and clothing needs.

South Carolina Disaster Legal Assistance and Services

  • 877-797-2227, Ext. 120; low-income, elderly and other vulnerable residents who were affected by Hurricane Ian and are unable to afford their own lawyer may call the 877 toll-free legal hotline or call the South Carolina line at 803-576-3815 to request assistance. Lines are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  • Hurricane Ian survivors may also contact South Carolina Legal Services at 888-346-5592 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday or submit a request for disaster legal services
