Emergency management planners should also consider investing in public information and family reunification capabilities, including the expansion of pre-scripted messages as part of the emergency alert system and formalization of the regional joint information system. These can be used to rapidly disseminate actionable information to the public even before the details of the incident are known (see KPF 3, Communicate with External Partners and the Public).
