FEMA Individual Assistance deadline is less than a month away

AUSTIN, Texas – The deadline to register for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is less than one month away. South Texas survivors have until Sept. 16, 2019, to register with FEMA for grants to help with housing repairs and rebuilding as well as other needs.

 

Help remains at three disaster recovery centers that offer in-person support to individuals and businesses affected by the South Texas floods. Recovery specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will be on hand to answer questions and offer guidance regarding applications. Centers are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. The centers are closed on Sunday.

Homeowners and renters in the Rio Grande Valley should register now. Survivors can register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by phone at 1-800-621-3362 (FEMA). For those who use TTY, call 1-800-462-7585. Survivors who use 711 service or Video Relay Service should call 1-800-621-3362. FEMA Helpline representatives are available to assist survivors from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) daily.
