Acquisitions of Repetitive Loss and Severe Repetitive Loss Properties

This memo makes the pre-calculated benefit for acquisitions ($323,000 per structure) available for Repetitive Loss (RL) and Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) properties regardless of their location in the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA). Using a pre-calculated benefit eliminates the requirement for applicants/subapplicants to complete a full Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA) to demonstrate cost-effectiveness of their hazard mitigation project.

Planning-Related Activities

In accordance with 44 CFR Section 206.434., up to 7% of a recipient’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HGMP) funding can be used for mitigation planning. This fact sheet provides examples of planning-related activities that may be eligible using HMGP 7% funding.
