Initiatives

Co-chaired by the Office of Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation (OEHP) and the Office of Response and Recovery (ORR), including leadership representation from every FEMA component, the Climate Adaptation Enterprise Steering Group (ESG):

  • Identifies strategic opportunities and barriers to further advance adaption and environmental justice through FEMA programs and activities in both short- and long-term actions.

FEMA makes hazard mitigation program funds from coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic available nationwide. President Biden today approved more than $3.46 billion to increase resilience to the impacts of climate change nationwide. This significant investment will be available for natural hazard mitigation measures across the 59 major disaster declarations issued due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
