Acting Deputy Chief Security Officer

Brian Given, currently the acting Deputy Chief Security Officer, has over 15 years of experience building teams, improving processes, and implementing change. In this role he has focused on human capital, accountable property processes, and finalizing the OCSO re-org. In his day job, he is the Director of Business Support in FEMA’s Mission Support Executive Office. With the Business Support Division, his focus is on ensuring business management functions meet customer’s needs as well as coordinating disaster and continuity readiness capabilities across the Mission Support Enterprise. Previously, Brian led the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration’s Enterprise Customer Relationship Management effort, where he worked to consolidate FIMA customer data and improve the customer and employee experience. Brian has a master’s in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and bachelor’s in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.
