$7.6 MILLION ANNOUNCED FOR BRUNSWICK ELECTRIC MEMBERSHIP CORPORATION [https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20250121/76-million-announced-brunswick-electric-membership-corporation] Release Date: Tháng 9 5, 2019 Sept. 5, 2019 DR-4393-NC NR 178 Media Contact: (919) 990-4090   News Release $7.6 Million Announced for Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation   DURHAM, N.C. – FEMA and the State of North Carolina are approving nearly $7.6 million to reimburse Hurricane Florence-related repairs to the Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation.   The cooperative provides electrical service to Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus and Robeson counties, which were included in the presidential disaster declaration following Hurricane Florence.   High winds, rain and flooding caused by the hurricane damaged overhead utility poles, lines and transformers in multiple counties.   FEMA’s Public Assistance program provides grants for state and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations to reimburse the cost of debris removal, emergency protective measures and permanent repair work.   Public Assistance is a cost-sharing program. FEMA reimburses applicants at least 75 percent of eligible costs, and the remaining 25 percent is covered by the state of North Carolina.
