ONE MONTH LEFT TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL DISASTER ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE
IMPACTED BY THE MARSHALL FIRE AND STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS

DENVER – Boulder County residents who suffered damage or losses from
the Marshall Fire and straight-line winds have one month left to apply
for disaster assistance with FEMA and low-interest disaster loans with
U.S. Small Business Administration.

FEMA disaster assistance for individuals and families can include
money for the following:

 	* Rental assistance
 	* Essential home repairs
 	* Personal property
 	* Other serious disaster-related needs not covered by insurance

The application deadline is MARCH 2, 2022.

Disaster assistance is not a substitute for insurance and cannot
compensate for all losses caused by a disaster. The assistance is
intended to meet basic needs and supplement disaster recovery efforts.

BOULDER COUNTY HOMEOWNERS AND RENTERS CAN APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE OR
CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THEIR APPLICATION IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

 	* Going on-line to DisasterAssistance.gov

Calling 800-621-3362. Multilingual operators are available. The
toll-free number is open every day from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. MST. If you
use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned
telephone service or others, give FEMA the number for that service.

 	* Visiting the Disaster Recovery Center at 1755 S. PUBLIC ROAD,
LAFAYETTE, COLORADO. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST Monday through
Saturday (closed Sundays). FEMA program experts are available to
answer questions about the application and recovery processes.
 	* Downloading the FEMA mobile app for smartphones.

WHEN YOU APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE, HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION READILY
AVAILABLE:

 	* A current phone number where you can be contacted.
 	* Your address at the time of the disaster and the address where you
are now staying.
 	* Your Social Security Number (or if you don’t have one, the
Social Security Number of a U.S. minor (child) living with you at the
time of the disaster)
 	* A general list of damage and losses.
 	* Banking information if you choose direct deposit.
 	* If insured, the policy number or the agent and/or the company
name.
