FEMA ISSUES PUBLIC NOTICE FOR 21 GEORGIA COUNTIES [https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20210211/fema-issues-public-notice-21-georgia-counties] Release Date: February 11, 2021 ATLANTA – The Federal Emergency Management Agency is advising the public of its intent to reimburse eligible applicants for eligible costs to repair or replace public facilities damaged by Tropical Storm Zeta occurring October 29, 2020, under the disaster declaration FEMA 4579-DR-GA. Detailed information is located in the public notice now posted on the FEMA webpage at: https://www.fema.gov/disaster-federal-register-notice/dr-4579-ga-public-notice-001 and on the Georgia Emergency Management Agency website at: https://gema.georgia.gov/assistance/infrastructure-and-local-government-assistance BANKS, CARROLL, CHEROKEE, DAWSON, DOUGLAS, FANNIN, FORSYTH, FRANKLIN, GILMER, HABERSHAM, HALL, HARALSON, HEARD, LUMPKIN, PAULDING, PICKENS, RABUN, STEPHENS, TOWNS, UNION, and WHITE counties are eligible for Public Assistance (PA) Categories A-G, including Direct Federal Assistance. The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) is available statewide. The notice describes proposed activities that may affect historic properties and activities and critical actions that may affect wetlands and floodplains. Additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments. This public notice concerns activities that may affect historic properties, activities that are located in or affect wetland areas or the 100-year floodplain, and critical actions within the 500-year floodplain. Such activities may adversely affect the historic property and floodplain or wetland or may result in continuing vulnerability to flood damage. As noted, this may be the only public notice regarding the above-described actions under the PA and HMGP programs.
