Residents of Orleans County who suffered damage to their homes or personal property may apply for disaster assistance with FEMA. Additional counties may be added at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments. Orleans County is in addition to the eight counties already designated for Individual Assistance: Caledonia, Chittenden, Lamoille, Orange, Rutland, Washington, Windham and Windsor. Assistance may include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-interest loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
