D-SNAP FOR HURRICANE IAN SURVIVORS [https://www.fema.gov/fact-sheet/d-snap-hurricane-ian-survivors] Release Date: oct 13, 2022 Households that may not normally be eligible under regular Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) rules may qualify for D-SNAP if they meet certain criteria: * Must NOT be receiving regular SNAP benefits * Must have been living or working in a disaster-declared county at the time of Hurricane Ian. * Must fall within certain income limits. * Must have suffered a disaster-related loss such as: * Damage to their home or self-employment property * Loss of food * Reduction or loss of income * Other disaster-related expenses Eligible households will receive one month of benefits they can use to purchase groceries at SNAP-authorized stores or from select retailers online [https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/online-purchasing-pilot] to meet their temporary food needs as they settle back home following the disaster.
