CAGUAS, Puerto Rico – FEMA mitigation community education and
outreach specialists will be at two Kmart locations to answer
questions and to provide free information and tips on how to
strengthen and secure homes damaged by earthquakes and hurricanes.

 

The specialists will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, Feb.
10 through Saturday, Feb. 15, at these two Kmart locations in
Mayagüez and Ponce:

Successful methods to prevent or reduce damage from disasters will be
shared along with tips on building hazard-resistant homes. Most of the
information and free publications provided are geared for
do-it-yourself work and general contractors.

 

Teams will share information on earthquakes and other natural
disasters, provide publications and offer mitigation advice for damage
to buildings from natural disasters.

 

All information and assistance will be available in English and
Spanish.
