Resiliency of the Puerto Rico Fire Department Increases with $5.7 Million from FEMA

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico — FEMA assigned nearly $5.7 million to the Puerto Rico Fire Department as part of the recovery efforts on the island as a result of Hurricane María. The funds include projects to replace fire trucks as well as for the repair of facilities that provide response services related to all types of emergencies.

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico - To address the need for adequate disaster housing planning, FEMA released a Spanish-version of “Planning Consideration: Disaster Housing”. This guide aims to provide guidance to government and private sector officials on housing-specific planning recommendations that may be applied when developing or updating housing plans in the context of a disaster or an emergency.

Sports in Puerto Rico Strengthened with $15 Million in FEMA Funds

The Roberto Clemente Coliseum, the San Juan Natatorium and the Sixto Escobar Park are some of the facilities that will be repaired

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – Soon we will begin to see the recovery of some of the Island’s most well-known sports venues. The Roberto Clemente Coliseum, Sixto Escobar Park, the Pedrín Zorrilla Coliseum, the San Juan Natatorium, the Baldrich Club tennis courts and the Dr. José Celso Barbosa Park will be repaired with over $15.3 million in FEMA funds for damage related to Hurricane María.

FEMA Obligates Nearly $49 Million for the University of Puerto Rico

The sum is part of the $85 million obligated to the institution for permanent work projects

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico — During September, FEMA obligated $48.7 million in additional federal grants for 12 projects to repair several campuses of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), the island’s first and largest higher education system.

FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) members assist survivors during the Grand Three King's Celebration celebrated at Humacao Arenas Coliseum. Flyers and informational material was distributed to parents who attended the event while their children enjoyed the traditional festivities. Administration of Mental Health Services And Addiction Prevention (ASSMCA), in collaboration with the Department of State, FEMA, and other agencies took part in the Grand Three Kings Celebration in Aguada, Orocovis, Humacao, Manati, Salinas, and Guaynabo, for the benefit of bringing joy and gifts to children and their families.
