National Incident Management Assistance Team Leader (Blue) (Acting)

Mr. McAllister is serving as the Acting Team Leader for the National Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) Blue where he is responsible for ensuring the team has the capability and capacity to respond immediately and effectively to the worst disasters in the country. 

Rod has been with FEMA for approximately 17 years and is a fully qualified Type 1 Logistics Section Chief under the FEMA Qualifications System. Since joining FEMA in 2006, Rod has deployed to well over 150 federally declared disasters and emergencies in more than 40 states, plus the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam and American Samoa. 

Before joining NIMAT Blue in 2017 he was the Logistics Section Chief on the Region 9 IMAT. Over the course of his FEMA career, Rod has worked across multiple FEMA program areas and regions. His disaster experience includes responses to ice storms, floods, blizzards, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and landslides, as well as numerous high-profile, non-Stafford Act incidents. 

Rod is certified as an Incident Command System (ICS) instructor by the Emergency Management Institute and both contributes to content and teaches various ICS classes to federal, state and tribal audiences.
